Hello. hi. how are you?

My name’s Cella Lao Rousseau, and I’m a Winnipeg media & marketing manager, social media specialist, photographer, videographer, bestselling author, & award-winning blogger.

I graduated with a diploma from the creative communications program at red river college in 2016, and received by bachelor in arts a year later from the university of winnipeg with an honours in rhetoric & communications. prior to that, i attended balmoral hall, where i graduated on the honour roll.

In my spare time, I can be found consulting others on their media and marketing campaigns, dabbling in photography & film, editing video, writing stories, studying classical music, or cooking hand-made pasta with my 94-year-old nonna.

I take pride in my intense attention to detail, whether it be through my trained makeup artistry, my writing, or photography. Although I typically write stories on current events and breaking news, I have a soft spot for horror & true crime literature. It was this fascination with true crime that inspired me to write my bestselling novel, Damsel, which was released March 10th, 2015 at McNally Robinson Booksellers.

I’m a social media specialist, boasting constantly-updated profiles on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram. I’ve managed accounts with 30 followers and grown them to over 3,000 in less than a year, and i’ve managed accounts with half-a-million loyal patrons that continued to subscribe due to my production of content.

while a large part of my life is online, I’m still a very social, outgoing person, making friends in odd places and finding stories in the strangest nooks & crannies. I consider myself a professional in my many different areas of expertise, and I always continue to push myself to do better.

If it means going out of my comfort zone for more impactful news stories and difficult, investigative journalism, so be it.

If it means learning two German Lieder and two Italian arias in two months for a single concert, so be it.

If it means waiting hours for the perfect photo or shot without a tripod and only one battery pack, so be it.

If it means editing, voicing, and exporting a story in only 30 minutes on a lagging Adobe Premiere file, so be it.

you’ll never be able to be like me"
